Sylvester Is Back At The Vets
Sylvester has had another infection and is back at the vets.
Sylvester (I'd stick up a picture of him but he is a sight that would produce sore eyes) was bitten again by another pet and developed another infection. That happened more than a week ago. Last Saturday he also got a cut on his nose. This required another visit to the vets. They said the nose would not require stitches but did drain the abcess on back of his neck and administered a timed release long lasting antibiotic injection. Two days later poor Sylvester actually got worse and went back to the vets with a fever of 104.2 degrees. They decided to lance the abcess and administer a second type of long lasting timed release injectable antibiotic.
Sylvester went home with a drain tube sticking horizontally out both sides of the back of his neck. He was starting to take on a familiar appearance so we started calling him Frankie. The tube did kind of remind us of electrodes.
Well, yesterday "Frankie" decided he didn't like the look so out the d&%m tube came and Sylvester is back at the Docs today. They said they wouldn't put it back in though as things were healing nicely. What a relief. Frankie was starting to become scary.
All this in a young cat not more than 5 months old.
